Sam
Summerday
Sam is a real dynamo
– full of dreams and schemes – she has a great
sense of fun! Sam is not afraid to take risks and this
is how she discovers Strange Street. She longs to have a pet,
any sort of pet, but she lives in a flat. As Sam grows up,
she will have to deal with her mum and dad's separation.

Jojo Macdonald
Jojo is Mouse's outgoing
twin sister who loves football and horses. Throughout the
stories, Jojo shows that she can stand up for herself and
her brother. They live with their mum, dad, baby brother Pip,
and their pets. Jojo and Mouse do most things together and,
as their house backs on to the park, they spend lots of time
playing there.

Ben King
Ben is the oldest
of the friends. He is thoughtful and perceptive, and often
his quick thinking gets the friends out of trouble (usually
caused by Sam). He likes playing with computers – like
his dad. His mum, Anna, is a fitness instructor and he has
an older sister, Tessa, who he argues with on a regular basis.
He is also very close to his grandparents, Big G and Little
G, who live near Story Street. His paternal grandparents live
in Trinidad.

Donut Hart
Donut, whose real
name is Duncan, moves to Story Street with
his family and pet parrot in Step 7. He lives with his flamboyant
mother and his stepdad, who is a builder, and his little sister
Cleo. Donut is a friendly and outgoing boy who soon becomes
the joker of the group.

Mouse Macdonald
Mouse’s
real name is Mark, but Mouse suits his character better, so
that’s what everyone calls him. He is a bit nervous,
but he proves that he can be brave when he needs to be. He
is fascinated by outer space, and his bedroom is full of planet
mobiles and posters. Mouse and his twin sister Jojo
share everything, but as they grow up, they have to learn
to be individuals.
|
Cleo Hart
Cleo’s full
name is Cleopatra, which suits her very well as she loves
dressing up and pretending to be a queen! Cleo takes after
he r
mother Cassandra, as she enjoys being the centre of attention
and desperately wants to be one of the gang, even though she
