Jenny Alexander
| Hi,
I'm Jenny Alexander and I have written a lot of
the Story Street stories. I've answered some questions
about Story Street below for you, and if you have
any more questions, or want to tell me about your
writing, please e-mail me! |
 |
1. How long have you been a writer for?
My first book was published 5 years ago.
2. How does it feel to know that lots of children
enjoy reading your stories?
Fantastic!
3. What do you like best about writing Story Street?
I like sharing the writing with Kaye and Jeremy. It
means that even though I know the characters really
well, they can still surprise me.
|
4. Which Story Street character do you like writing
about most?
I haven't got a favourite character, but I like
writing stories about family life so I'm glad
we've got Mick, Tessa, Pip and all the parents
|
 |
5. If you could look after any of the Story Street
animals, which would it be and why?
Lucky, because I adore rabbits. I've got a rabbit called
Shintie who lives in my kitchen.
6. Where would you most like to visit in Story Street?
The library. I'd like to sit in on story time with
Mick, and see what kind of books the children choose.
I'd like to choose some books for myself!
 |
7. Would you rather have Miss Cherry or Mr
Hopkins as a teacher?
Mr Hopkins, because Steve makes him look so
funny.
8. Do you find it hard writing sad stories
like Losing Lucky?
|
No. Sad things happen to everyone, and writing about them
is a great way of making yourself feel better.
9.
If you could press the Magic Button, where would you like
the lift to take you?
To an underwater world, where fish could talk and octopuses
wore jackets with eight sleeves.
10. What is your favourite children's book?
I like books that make me laugh and cry. My favourite
children's authors are Jacqueline Wilson, Anne Fine
and Dick King Smith. But my all-time favourite children's
book is Two weeks with the Queen by Morris Gleitzman.
11. What is your favourite children's film?
Babe
